The strong growth of ICT&health nationally and internationally is a positive development. More and more healthcare organizations, policymakers, and innovators are joining our network. Unfortunately, this growth also means that our name is becoming more attractive to parties who want to abuse it. This emphasizes how important it is that we remain vigilant about data security and the reliability of communication in healthcare.
Trust in digital healthcare stands or falls with data protection. ICT&health has been committed to secure, responsible data exchange in healthcare for many years. We take the same responsibility for the information of visitors, partners, and speakers at the ICT&health World Conference 2026. We never share or sell personal data to third parties.
Misleading emails
Recently, we have noticed that unauthorized external parties are sending unsolicited emails under names such as “IWC26 Outreach Team.” They claim that participant lists for the conference are available for purchase. These emails are not from ICT&health and are completely false. Our name is being misused to gain the trust of healthcare organizations at home and abroad.
ICT&health NEVER stores, shares, or sells data or personal information!
Recipients often see senders with generic domains, such as gmail.com, hotmail.com, or other free email services. ICT&health never uses such addresses for communication. Official ICT&health communications are always sent from our official domains, icthealth.nl or icthealth.org.
This abuse shows that data security also deserves attention outside healthcare institutions and systems. Any careless or misleading handling of data can damage trust in digital healthcare. That is why we continue to actively combat and monitor this.
Delete these emails, mark them as phishing, and do not click on any links!
We advise everyone to delete these emails immediately, mark them as phishing, and not respond to them. Do not click on any links contained in these emails. Our promise is and remains clear: our community's data stays with us and nowhere else. Official information about the ICT&health World Conference 2026 can only be found via icthealth.nl, icthealth.org, and our own newsletter.
Finally, we also regularly receive emails containing data, participant lists, or personal data from events such as HIMMS and HLTH. These are always immediately marked as spam and phishing and deleted immediately.
